AS/400 (iSeries) operating system must be at release V4R4M0 or newer to install and use
these applications.
The Pacioli/400 Accounting Suite contains the following libraries:

You will normally accept the defaults and press <enter>. To quit, press F3 or F12.
When you press <enter>, Pacioli/400 displays the install / refresh status screen (refer to Screen 51 Install/Refresh Status below). Press <enter> to continue or F12=Cancel to quit.
Installation now prompts for the license code (refer to License Code). Type the code sent with the application and press enter. At the confirmation, type “Y” to accept and continue or “N” to allow you to reenter an incorrectly entered license code. Or press F3 or F12 to cancel the install / refresh.
You may be prompted for a recovery library name. The recovery library is used during a refresh when there are database (file layout) changes in the newer release. The install / refresh process saves the existing file with its data in the recovery library in case there is a problem with installing the new database layouts.
Pacioli/400 will restore the application objects (this may take some time depending on your iSeries workload) to a temporary library and then begin updating each library shown on the status screen. The status of each library will change to ‘Working’. Once the updates to that library are completed, the status changes to ‘Done’ and the current release level is displayed to the right of the status column. When all libraries have been updated, Pacioli/400 will remove the temporary library. Once this is completed, Pacioli/400 has a final prompt that requires you to type ‘*YES’ and press <enter> where upon your iSeries session is signed off. You have now installed the Pacioli/400 Accounting Suite. You should remove the CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive and store with the CDs for your other iSeries software.
Ø Most
of the Pacioli/400 Application objects, on your AS/400, are owned by
FMSOWNER. Installation creates the User
Profile FMSOWNER, with user class of *USER, special authorities of *NONE,
initial program of *NONE and initial menu of *SIGNOFF. This group profile must not be used to sign
on to a workstation. It has limited use
other than as the owner of the Pacioli/400 Application objects. This user profile should not be modified in
any way. Subsequent Pacioli/400
Application refreshes will reset the defaults to this user profile.
Ø Public authority to most objects that contain real data is set to *EXCLUDE. Thus, a casual user cannot get at the real data without starting the Pacioli/400 Application. The application programs adopt the authority of FMSOWNER that gives a user iSeries authority to work with the real data. When a user starts the application with the start command or the program interface the programs adopt the FMSOWNER authority.
Ø There is one command object that Pacioli/400 creates in library QGPL. This is the STRPACIOLI command. By placing this command in library QGPL, users can quickly access the applications without having to set library lists.
Ø If you are using Version 1 of Pacioli/400 Accounts Payable and install Version II, the data from Version 1 of Power Ledger is migrated to the PACIOLIDTA library (which contains your Version 1 Accounts Payable). This install process converts both Accounts Payable Version 1 and Power Ledger Version 1 to Pacioli/400 Version II. You cannot run Version 1 Accounts Payable after this installation has completed. The Version 1 Power Ledger files still exist in the Version 1 libraries (FMSGLDTA) but all the data has been converted to Version II format and is now in library PACIOLIDTA.

Before the end of the initial install of a data library,
the application displays screen PXA030L.
You should authorize at least one user that has, at the least, the
authority to administer the user profiles in Pacioli/400. By doing this, Pacioli/400
users will not have to come to QSECOFR to administer users to the application
functions and companies.

Have the user you just authorized sign on a workstation and enter the command: STRPACIOLI to use the application. If upgrading from a previous version of ControllerVision or Power Ledger, the user should review the chapter on Conversion to Version II in the User’s Guide.
